Snack # 4: Yaokin Long Cola Gummy

After recoiling from the epic fiasco of the Super Long Gummy String, we got right back on that candy horse and returned to the realm of Japanese gummy candy. Like Chumbawumba, we get knocked down, but we get up again.

I didn't manage to get a picture of the candy, so this picture is courtesy of Blippo Kawaii Shop.
The Facts:
A thick string of cola-flavored gummy candy, covered in what look to be sugar crystals.

The Reacts:
This was an improvement over the Super Long Gummy String.  (That's damning with faint praise, considering the reactions to the Super Long Gummy String.)
The texture is soft and, despite the crystals coating it, somewhat sticky -- more so than other cola gummy candies.  (Haribo Happy-Cola candies, for example, are as soft, but smooth and don't stick to your hands like the Yaokin does.) (Well, as long as you don't keep the Haribo in your pocket, that is).
The flavor is similar to a generic-brand cola; mostly sweet, but a touch of sour to keep the sweetness from getting too overwhelming.  Also, to my taste, the flavor has a pleasing touch of cinnamon to it.  As candy, it works pretty well.

Rating:
Our friend Tim sums it up well: "This is pretty legit."  Were I in the mood for a cola-flavored confection, I would eat this one again.  10/10 for not being the Meiji Super Long Gummy String.

Next post:  The first savory non-candy snack in the assortment is familiar in some ways, and not so familiar in others.
